The police force in Kano has arrested five males suspected to be involved in the Sunday bomb blast at St. Charles Catholic Church in which at least five people were killed and eight were injured. Check out for full story

Police spokesman Frank Mba said that the bomb was “probably an IED (improvised explosive device) thrown from across the street” at the Saint Charles Catholic Church in Kano’s Sabon Gari district, which has suffered previous attacks by the Islamist group Boko Haram,  There are indications that five persons are dead and eight injured but the police are yet to confirm that. A female suicide bomber blew herself up outside a university in Kano, northern Nigeria’s largest city, after they prevented her from carrying out an attack, injuring five officers, police said. “A female suicide bomber was isolated as she was walking towards the gate of the university,” said police spokesman Frank Mba, adding that she had hidden the bomb under her “long black hijab”. “Police on duty isolated her” because she was behaving strangely, Mba said. They were about to ask a woman colleague to frisk the woman when she detonated the bomb, killing herself and injuring the five police officers, he said.

A former Chelsea youth player has died after reportedly falling from a balcony while on holiday in Turkey. Jordan Tabor, 23, is believed to have dropped from the third floor of his hotel in the resort of Lara Beach, near Antalya, early on Wednesday, the Mirror reported. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear. Tabor was a member of Chelsea’s youth academy for four years until 2009. The Foreign Office said it was providing consular assistance to Tabor’s family but would not comment on the circumstances of his death.

But this week there were indications that she was going to survive. 'The doctors said she would not live - but she has survived,' said Roona's mother Fatima Khatun, 23.

The Nigerian defence hd-quarters released a statement this evening indicating that another crew member of Mi-35 arcraft that crashed in Bama, Borno state survived after being declared misssing The Engineer crew member of the crashed Nigerian Air Force Mi-35 Helicopter earlier declared missing has been found alive.  The crew member who was declared missing when his body could not be located in the vicinity of the crash resurfaced at the military Headquarters in Maiduguri today, having trekked through the bushes after the crash. It is thus confirmed that Flight Lieutenant NM Halilu, Co-Pilot and Warrant Officer Augustine Nwanonenyi, the aircraft technician survived the crash while Flight Lieutenant Onyeka Nwakile was the only one lost in the crash.  The family of the officer has been duly informed while the two survivors are in stable condition but receiving medical attention. Kaduna state Governor Ramalan Yero, has declared a 24-hour curfew in Kaduna metropolis in response to the tragedy that struck the state killing more than a score. He described the act as the height of ‘cowardice’ by those bent on creating tension in the state. The curfew took immediate effect to enable security personnel to restore normalcy in the area. The governor also commiserated with the families of victims of the blasts and directed security agencies to intensify surveillance while also pursuing the perpetrators of the blasts.

Two bomb blast hits Kaduna today, the second which went off barely two-hours after the first one killed at least 25 persons. The first blast occured aalong the axis of  Isa Kaita road and the target was assumed to be an Islamic cleric and also a critic of the extremist Boko Haram sect, Dairu Bauchi, who had deilvered Ramadam lectures at the square.  It was also said that the sheikh escaped the blast, as it was concealed in a volkswagen Golf car parked along the road. The second bomb was also said to be concealed as the first and many bodies lay on the floor after the blast. Note: No detail indicates that the blast was undertaken by the Boko Haram sect.  More details to come.....

Anyways....        The Enugu State House of Assembly on Tuesday said the state deputy governor, Sunday Onyebuchi, does not deserve to remain in office claming he operates a poultry  farm within the premises of his quarters and this obstructs the smooth activity of govt in others ways. Twenty-two of the 24 members of the Assembly  had on Monday resolved to serve impeachment notice on the deputy governor.

Early today, a Mi-35 helicopter crashed in Borno state while on a training mission. According to recent updates from defense spokesperson, Mr Olukolade he said three crew member where on board when it crashed. One of the pilot survived , while another pilot with a technician died in the accident.

A Nigerian aircraft Mi-35 helicopter crashed today in borno. According to Defence spokesperson, Chris Olukolade the aircraft crashed as a result of some technical difficulties in South of Bama and was not as a result of an enemy attack as some may think. Bama is one of the locations in the North-east state of Borno where the extremist Boko Haram sect has intensified its terrorist activities. The Nigerian military has continued to launch ground and aerial assaults on the area to crush the terrorists.

Born to Deacon and Mrs. Andrew #Obareki in Sapele, Delta state (of Urhobo origin), the late singer was born on the 5th of February and began singing as early as age eight in her church’s children’s choir. She subsequently moved on to the adult choir (at age fifteen) and by the time she was eighteen she became the church’s choir director. While in the choir, the church released a few albums where she was part of the lead and backup vocals.
